IMPROVEMENT OF DOMESTIC HIP ENDOPROSTHESIS


Purpose of the development: Hip Prosthesis is designed for surgical treatment of serious diseases and consequences of injuries of the hip joint by total hip replacement.

Recommended application field: Traumatology, Orthopaedics.

Technical characteristic: The diameter of the head - 28 mm, the roughness parameter Ra - not more than 20 nm, deviation from sphericity - 1 micron. It has 2 versions, which differ in the shape of the aperture: at first - opening cone (cone European 12/14 mm), the second - with an annular cylindrical groove. This stem is implanted with two bushings certain shape. Ceramic heads with ZrO2 have higher strength and fracture toughness, as well as the microstructure finer and smoother surface than heads with Al2O3.

Advantages over analogues: The application of new domestic bioinert high wear-resistant ceramic materials and bioactive ceramic coatings, the latest high-end technologies will allow an order to reduce the wear components in the friction pair, improve the biocompatibility of the endoprosthesis with the body 2-3 times longer life and ensure reliable operation at least 15-20 years operation without significant complications.

Technical and economic effect: Due to improvement of the design and use of new nanomaterials and coatings, as well as technologies that significantly improve the quality of domestic implants, their stability in a biological environment of the body, which ensures high reliability and efficiency of operations, reduction of the period of rehabilitation; reduce the number of postoperative complications and failures; increasing the stability and duration of the functioning of the implant.

The main disadvantage of domestic implants - a limited time operation up to 5-7 years due to increased wear of components in the friction pair and insufficient biocompatibility with the body. To improve the prosthesis developers have used nanomaterials, nanostructured coatings and the latest technology. Through the use of ceramic heads with nanocrystalline zirconia powder have improved tribological characteristics of friction unit, there was a significant reduction in friction and reducing the products and particle size of wear of the friction pair. By applying to the metal components of the endoprosthesis nanostructured bioactive ceramic coating with improved biocompatibility and fixation of the body. The coating forms a direct biochemical connection with the bone and provides a perfect biocompatibility with bone tissue, and the lack of migration into the body of the alloying elements and trace, targeted delivery of drugs and others. Development of a technique of computer modeling allow us to determine the main directions of improving the design of the implant, as well as provide opportunities for operational planning to implant design and manufacturing individual implants for a particular patient.
