Recommended application field:
The capacitance increases with increasing an effective electrode area and with decreasing a dielectric layer thickness.
Advantages over analogues:
Advantages: Very high discharge current values are possible as well as the high charging current; As a result, high specific power can be obtained in pulses of short duration; Practically unlimited number of charge/discharge cycles (up to millions); Wide operating temperature range; Complete discharge is permissible; No maintenance is necessary while in use; Envirinmentally appropriate production and use, readily available desing materials, handling safety.

Description of the development:
() Various conductive conductive materials, e.g. those based on nanoporous carbon fibre or powder with the effective surface area of ca. 1000sq.m/g are used as the electrodes in SC. Being coupled with the extremely low double layer thickness (ca 1 nm) this results in a superhigh specific capacitance - up to 10 F/cc or even higher.
