CONVERTER METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OF CORROSION-RESISTANT STEEL (HRS PROCESS)

Advantages over analogues: The main advantages of the method of HRS: • Increase productivity by 1.5-2.0 times, compared with the AOD process, thus reducing the specific investment costs for capital construction; • technological process provides flexibility to use intermediate liquid steelmaking as the cheapest scrap and high carbon ferroalloys (without limitation to the initial carbon content) and 100% of waste stainless steel; • the costs of argon at oxygen refining, according to the ADP sravniiyu process are reduced by 1.5-2.0 times; • universal method that allows not only to melt any corrosion-resistant steels and alloys (including osobonizkouglerodistye), but almost all the high-quality steel of various grades, including carbon, alloy and nizkolegirovannye; • implemented in the converter slag rational temperature and melting mode, depending on the mix of steel and unit capacity of the unit, including small converters capacity of 5 tons; • possibility of arranging separate and slag tapping and thus the success of the deep desulfurization of steel and its doping titanium or other readily oxidizable elements; • it is possible doping nitrogen stainless steels from the gas phase to within ± 0,01% wt. without azotorovanih ferroalloys.

The method of gas-oxygen refining (SERS) is implemented in the converter unit with a bottom or a combined supply of blast and has a high rate of occurrence of all refining processes. Compared with the known analogues (AOD process and VoD) SERS method has a higher efficiency of the process, expanding the technological capabilities steelmaking repartition and, at the same time, ensure the quality of finished metal on par with the best international standards. SERS process implemented at steel plant "DSS" (converter capacity of 60 tons), the manufacture of machinery "Mirgorodskiy Fittings Plant" (a converter 5 tons) and South-West of stainless steels Province of China Xi-chuan (converter 60 m). The advantages of the process are achieved by SERS broad power-to-differential converter and a mix of cast steel, as well as technological stages of refining and blow mode. Gas networks provide a converter and summarizing the regulation of energy expenditure such as oxygen, natural gas, argon and nitrogen. Blowing an oxidizing potential supplied may vary within wide limits from 100% pure oxygen to inert gas purge. The technology can be easily reproduced, lends itself well to control the actions and implemented in accordance with our automated process control system. Through the use of the process is based SERS converter method achieved the minimum both capital and operating costs for the steel-making metallurgical stage.
