Description of the development: () The institute has studied the mechanisms and created theoretical principles of the generation of nitric oxides and other toxic substances in boiler furnaces. It has developed methods and technical means of reducing the generation and discharge of nitric oxides by heat-and-power engineering plants, including furnace gas recycling systems, two- and multi-stage fuel combustion with respective air supply regulation, fuel gas and recicling gas premixing, and a number of other measures widely introduced on power plants in Ukraine and other CIS countries. A reduction of nitric oxide discharge by two-three times has been achieved.
