NEW COMPOSITE POWDER METALLURGY MATERIAL


Purpose of the development: Tools and friction junctions of new composite materials are used in paper, tobacco, leather and timber processing, as well as in metallurgy for shaping elements of stamping press forms, dies, rolls of rolling mills. It can also be used in heavy loaded friction junctions of pumps in oil and gas industry as antifriction material.

Recommended application field: It is in paper, tobacco, leather and timber processing, metallurgy, oil and gas industry.

Technical characteristic: Hardness HRA, MPa 840-890 Bening strenght, MPa, not less than 2400 Impact strenght, kJ*m[2] 120-140 Thermal resistance, degrees C 640-660

Advantages over analogues: New composite powder metallurgy material combines high hardness and viscosity, higher impact toughness and wear resistance comparing to traditional hard alloys.

We developed new composite powder metallurgy material made of carbides of hard melting metals (mainly Ti) with metal binder. The cutting tools made of this material can be in single or bimetallic form.
