MAGNETIC-ABRASIVE MACHINING OF COMPLEX FORM


Purpose of the development: Method of magnetic abrasive machining is used for polishing and sanding and cleaning the surfaces, removing bullies, rounded edges or hardening.

Recommended application field: Processing tool steel and hard alloys, processing GTE blades etc.

Advantages over analogues: MAO advantages over traditional methods of mechanical abrasion due to the special properties of the working of the body used in processing, namely the magnetic abrasive tools (MAI), which is formed of ferro-abrasive powder in magnetic slots machines. On the details of possible stable supply of surface roughness Ra <0.2 microns for all materials. MAO performance in 2 - 5 times higher than the existing methods. Under Mao, the temperature of parts does not exceed 100 ° C. The treatment increases the corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, wear resistance.

A new method of magnetic abrasive treatment based on the use of magnetic and hydrodynamic effects that occur during processing and fully realizing the benefits of this method of polishing. The essence of the method of magnetic-abrasive machining (MAO) is in the processing of parts ferro-abrasive powders, which are formed into a tool by the magnetic field. Thus easily adjustable rigidity of such a tool, it is well to the levels the work surface of any shape, making it a highly productive, uniform treatment. Magnetic-abrasive method has been used successfully for the treatment of external and internal cylindrical surfaces, bodies of revolution with a curvilinear generatrix, helical surfaces, planes. For technological purposes MAO may be classified as non-dimensional and dimensional type of treatment.
