DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH TECHNOLOGY COATING COMPOSITION OF METAL-CARBON FUNCTIONAL COATING


Purpose of the development: Improving the performance of the surfaces of metals, working in difficult conditions of simultaneous action of the active medium, friction, temperature.

Recommended application field: Nanomaterials. Composite materials.

Advantages over analogues: The key competitive advantages of the development include the following: a combination of high wear resistance with low friction coating to preserve the original state of carbon nanotubes with their characteristic properties, high mechanical properties of composite coatings as compared to loose on the surface of carbon nanotubes, the combination in a single technological cycle of operations formation of composite coatings. Proposal and experimental verification of the thesis of the possibility of a lack of chemical interaction between the nanostructure state of carbon and metal to create highly nonequilibrium conditions of condensation of the plasma flow. The establishment of the regularities of formation of carbon nanotubes on the catalytic metal centers under different conditions of deposition.

The development stage readiness: Introduced in production

Technical and economic effect: Cost-effectiveness of the developed coating is determined by the life extension of aircraft parts and machines for different purposes at the expense of increased wear and corrosion resistance of rubbing surfaces.

Description of the development:

In a vacuum chamber installed ion-plasma spraying of "Bulat" spraying is carried out on the dielectric substrate metal coatings, which subsequently condense complex carbon nanotubes as nanoscale. These form the framework of the nanotube as a highly porous material whose volume is filled with metal filler. There is a composition of different materials, which are inherent properties of both components, ie, a low coefficient of friction and high hardness (nano carbon) and ductility, corrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity (metal filler). This coating has high tribological and corrosion properties and can effectively protect the working surfaces of parts operating under complex conditions of simultaneous action of corrosion and wear protection.
