Advantages over analogues: The main advantages are: to keep the device in the work area and channel it along the edge of the treated does not require any type of belt guides, which is spent on installation time, and due to errors incurred during installation, reduced accuracy. To operate the device is mounted directly on the end product and is secured by a rapid screw clamp. For an electrical circuit used serial control board welding machines, manufactured by the plant, which meets all the requirements of the TOR for the design unit. Miniature UPK-3 is designed for mechanized oxy-fuel welding edge preparation of plates and pipes with a diameter of more than 600 mm. High accuracy of the geometric parameters of the processed edges is ensured by the fact that the equipment supplied, there are no rails to hold the device elements in the work area. Undercarriage set directly on the edge of the workpiece end face and copy details. Rate of removal of the edge, depending on the thickness of the metal and the type of gas is in the range 0,25-0,65 m / min. Analogue devices UPK-3 is widely used in the construction of installers of fixed offshore platforms in the Caspian and Black Seas in 1980-1982.
