HIGH-PERFORMANCE LOW-CALORIE FUEL HEAT-GENERATOR

Purpose of the development: Processing of timber wastes or other low-calorie fuel with the purpose to obtain heated air or water, or water vapor, or to generate electric power.

Recommended application field: Power Engineering

Advantages over analogues: Analogs of the heat generators operating on the principle of a vortex flow are not known. An original design of the combustion chambers allows to realise high-performance duration-regulated two-stage process of gasification of solid fuel and subsequent burning of pyrolysis gas in one installation. The process ensures a high degree of completeness of combustion of fuel and low level of harmful emissions (CO, NОx, CHx). A kind of product with improved consumer properties and smaller cost. It has an independent market niche.

Description of the development:
()
The principle of operation of the heat-generator is based on the use of "dry" pyrolysis, gasification of the solid remainder and afterburning of pyrolysis gas in the two-stage combustion chamber of a vortex reverse-flow type. Utilization of the heat of the combustion products is carried out in air or water heat exchangers or in a steam generator. The process is implemented in two stages. At the first stage fuel is heated and partially thermally decomposed in the ring vortex combustion chamber. At the second stage, in the tubular vortex chamber in the central part of the vortex flow the fuel is finally thermally decomposed and the mixture of the gaseous products of the thermal decomposition are primary burned in the boiling layer created by a vortex flow of air, pyrolysis gas and particles of gasified fuel. The afterburning of the mixture is carried out in the vortex flow with air supplied. The heat-generator can be produced in different modifications depending on the required thermal output. In medium- or high-power versions of the installation steam generator can be connected with a turboelectric generator. Turbogenerator with thermal capacity of 1000 kW consumes 500-1000 tons a day, size of the rector - 3.4 м3, diameter and height of the working area - 0.626 m and 1.878 m, accordingly. Patents of the Russian Federation № 1726917 of 16.03.1993, № 2196940 of 20.01.2003 have been obtained. Patent applications № 2002101185 of 09.01.2002 and № 2002125477 of 09. 2002 have been submitted.
