Purpose of the development: The amorphous band from different alloys with width of 0.02-0.05 mm is applied in manufacture of magnetic cores for different electromagnetic devices and tools, microwave ovens, protective disconnection devices, chokes, transformers and other products with enhanced requirements to the magnetic properties of materials.

Recommended application field: Mechanical Engineering

Advantages over analogues: The single-phase amorphous band obtained has high chemical homogeneity, unique physical-mechanical and electromagnetic properties (low coercive force, high magnetic permeability, minimal magnetic losses on hysteresis). The equipment provides for high reliability and stability of the melt casting process. The design of the equipment includes a number of know-how.

Description of the development:

The band acquires amorphous structure as a result of the melt cooling at a rate exceeding the crystallization rate (106-108 0С/s), which is achieved by its superfast cooling on the surface of a fast rotating disk. The equipment includes: a melting unit, a rotating water-cooled disk, devices for removing of the band from the disk, its treatment, generation of excessive pressure over the melt and a control system.
