TRANSFER OF INNOVATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

EQUIPMENT OF A NEW GENERATION SUPERSONIC GAS-PLASMA SPRAYING AND CUTTING

Purpose of the development: Supersonic gas-plasma spraying of quality coatings with high adhesion, hardness and density, low porosity. The equipment is efficient in application of different types of coatings (wear- and corrosion-resistant, decorative, electroconductive on dielectric), worn parts restoration. It is promising for use in supersonic cutting, including that under flux, of stainless and highly alloyed steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals.

Recommended application field: Mechanical Engineering.

Technical characteristic: Chrome-, nickel-, copper-, carbides-based alloys and compounds powders are used for spraying. The supersonic jet parameters: rate up to 2,600 m/s, temperature 2,500 - 3,000 K. Obtained coating thickness is 0.1 - 5 mm, adhesion level is to 100 MPa, with porosity not more than 2%. Maximum capacity of the equipment as related to sprayed material is 1.5 kg/h.

Advantages over analogues: By costs, complexity, requirements to the personnel skills the equipment is on a par with available subsonic burners for flame spraying and significantly exceeds them by the quality of coatings applied. By efficiency it is not inferior to modern facilities for plasma spraying with the process costs 1.5 - 2 times lower. As opposed to foreign analogues "Jet Kote II" produced by Delovo Stellite GmbH, "Topgun" by UTP, the equipment is portable. It can be operated in field conditions. It features low weight-dimension parameters and cost lower more than by order, broader functional capabilities.

The development stage readiness: Introduced in production

Description of the development:
()
The supersonic gas-plasma spraying technique consists in uninterrupted burning of combustible gas (propane, butane) and oxygen, creation of a high-rate jet at the nozzle output and introduction of the sprayed material powder in the gas flow. A new kind of product with improved technical and economic characteristics featuring broader technological capabilities. The supersonic burner has an original design. The main technical solutions are protected by RF patents # 20373336 of 17.07.1993, # 2037337 of 17.07.1993.
