Purpose of the development: The "Dozor" system is intended for high accuracy measurement of mechanical strains and temperature in civil engineering, oil-gas and chemical industries; monitoring of integrity of buildings, bridges, pipelines, reservoirs; measurement of physical parameters in corrosive media and in fire risk conditions.

Recommended application field: Different industries of national economy.

Advantages over analogues: The device has no domestic analogs. Foreign analogs with the given principle of operation, particularly FISO Technologies company, Canada, rank significantly below the "Dozor" system in accuracy (resolution is worse and measurement error is higher) and their costs are substantially higher. Other advantages of the device are: - a wide dynamic measurement range, - a possibility for measurement channels multiplexing, compatibility with fiber-optic communication lines, - fire and explosion safety, - electro-magnetic interference (EMI) immunity. The system design includes a lot of know-how.

The "Dozor" system consists of a set of tiny interferometric probes connected to the measuring unit with a fiber-optic cable. The data are processed by a proprietary program running on a personal computer. Principle of operation of the interferometric sensor is transformation of an external action (deformation, temperature) into change of the optical path difference (OPD) of the sensing interferometer. The difference is computed with high accuracy during processing of the measuring unit output signal. The measurement technique is based on applying broadwidth light source and analysis of the whole radiation spectrum. Subsequent processing of the obtained spectrum in Fourier domain allows to determine OPD absolute value and eventually to measure the required physical parameter value. The "Dozor" system is a new product with improved consumer properties. It possesses certain market prospects concerning replacement of conventional instruments.
