Purpose of the development: Detection of leakages in underground pipelines of water supply and heating systems of municipal services. A new kind of product with the improved consumer properties and smaller cost, complementing the existing assortment of goods.

Advantages over analogues: Distinctive features of the device compared with analogs of Fuji Geofone System (Japan) and Reten Acoustics (USA): - High sensitivity; - Fast adaptation of an operator to the work with the device due to two geophones and stereoeffect; - Availability of a digital display. The design of the device contains considerable volume of know-how.

Description of the development:

The work of the device is based on monitoring of acoustical radiation of a fluid stream flowing under pressure from a damaged area of a pipeline. The acoustical oscillations are amplified by two highly sensitive geophones, filtered and translated to a digital display and operator's earphones. Availability of a stereochannel and digital measuring channel allows to correctly identify search direction and to spot accurately the pipeline's damaged area. The leak detector allows to spot leakages in pipelines laid at a depth of up to 6 m with accuracy 0.5 m. The converter of the geophone is of a piezoelectric type. Coefficient of amplification for stereoearphones is not less than 100 decibel. Continuous work - not less than 16 hours.
