PHOTON DETECTORS OF A NEW GENERATION

Recommended application field: Medicine: physiotherapy, blood autotransfusion, human solarization; Greenhouse and hothouse agrotechnology; Biotechnology: synthesis of D2, D3 vitamins; Disinfection of water air, clothes, instruments and food products during long storage and epidemics; Astronavigation and ultraviolet location; Astronomy: data acquisition about physical processes in nonterrestrial objects capable of irradiating ultraviolet radiation; Material science: determination of substance composition and elements electron structure; Ecology: ozone hole investigation, environment pollution detection; Nuclear physics and power engineering: recording nuclear particles with the help of scintillators; Defectoscopy, criminalities, study of art-luminescent analysis due to ability to luminescence some substances under the effect of the UVR.

Advantages over analogues: The suggested detector - avalanche photodiodes of a new generation allows recording the light of minute intensity. In comparison with analogues it is distinguished by small sizes (working elements area is 9 cubic mm), high sensitivity ( from 10 in 6th degrees to 10 in 7th degrees V/W) and operation speed. The sensitivity spectral region is 200-900 nm, working voltage is low (5-10V), the sensitivity threshold is about single photons. In comparison with analogues a production method is distinguished by simplicity and a moderate price.

The development stage readiness: Pre-production model is made

Description of the development:
()
Surface-barrier structures were created by vacuum deposition of thin films on the freshly cleaved surface of a InSe crystal. Ohmic contacts were deposited on the opposite surface of the crystal by a silver paste. The postbaking of such contacts in the course of 10 minutes led to reduction of transient resistance.
