Purpose of the development: Hot water supply

Recommended application field: Small collective and individual farms of rural and suburban locations.

Technical characteristic: The basis of a shower are two large reservoirs in a size according to the plane 1x1m which serve roof for shower. The reservoirs are filled with water and covered by transparent floating lid. Water is heated by sunlight covers to the temperature from 40 to 450 C, and is used in the shower. Floating lid protects the heated water from the cooling and heat loss by evaporation. Since water is not heated above 450 C, it does not require a reservoir with a cold water, that is, using heated water directly from reservoirs, which simplifies the design and use. The structure of shower uses tubular rods, as the carrier base, as enclosing material selected for the grommet banner fabric, impermeable to light inside the shower and resistant to weathering.

Advantages over analogues: The novelty of the proposal is to apply a new concept of solar water heater. This construction, which includes a wide reservoir of fiberglass, black inside, and closed with a transparent floating lid, is a kind of battery to heat the water, retaining heat water up to the end of the day, and allows to use heated water directly as having a safe and comfortable temperature.

The development stage readiness: Ready for application

Technical and economic effect: During the season shower produces 2200 MJ heat, which is 690 kWh of electricity amounting to EUR 45.
