NEW REFRACTORY MATERIALS WITH A PROTECTIVE COATING
Purpose of the development:
New ecologically clean heat-insulating refractory materials produced as plates of different sizes with a protective-hardening coating and varying by thickness density.
Recommended application field:
Application of them is especially expedient at metallurgical and chemical works, power engineering plants to line high-temperature (up to 1200°C) furnace units using liquid or gaseous aggressive media.
The heat-insulating refractory materials are produced in pilot-industrial batches. Trials of the base technologies and finished products have been carried out at a number of Russian enterprises.
Advantages over analogues:
With cost comparable with that of conventional refractory materials, the novel materials increase the lining's life-span 2-3 times
High heat resistance, operating temperatures, erosive stability to chemically active and aggressive gases and hyperthermal, high-speed gas streams
Heightened endurance to abrasion and mechanical strength
Acid - alcalinous stability in the environment of aggressive products of burning and emanating flue gases
Low porosity and high hardness
The development stage readiness:
Introduced in production
Description of the development:
() The technology of batch production of the new refractory materials was developed on the basis of the methods of self- diffusive hyperthermal synthesis and cold inflation.
Commonly occurring silicon-containing compounds, including waste of refractory materials (up to 50-70%), are used as the raw materials.
Patents of the Russian Federation have been obtained on the material and the method of its fabrication. The technology of manufacture has significant volume of know-how.
