MULTICOMPONENT CERAMICS WITH UNIQUE PHYSICOMECHANICAL PROPERTIES


Purpose of the development: Изготовление широкого спектра ответственных деталей для авиастроения, работающих в агрессивных средах и при повышенных температурах (сопла, лопатки, колеса турбин); тиглей для плавления агрессивных металлов и сплавов (Ni, Ti, Cr, Nd-Fe-B) при температурах выше 2000°С, выращивания кристаллов из щелочно-галоидных материалов; огнеупорной футуровки сейфов, стойкой в пропан-кислородном пламени. Композитная керамика перспективна при создании бронеэлементов специальной техники и средств индивидуальной защиты от огнестрельного оружия.

Recommended application field: Different industries of national economy.

Technical characteristic: he developed composite ceramics has the following physicomechanical properties: bending strength at 1700°C is 400 MPa, stress intensity factor (fracture resistance) is 10-15, thermal shock tolerance is 25-30 rapid temperature shocks (1250°C and water).

Advantages over analogues: The composite ceramics differs from the existing ones (B4C, SiC, Al2O3) on possibility to regulate physicomechanical properties, on high values of viscosity (fracture resistance), thermal shock tolerance, strength at high temperatures. With armor weight 25-27 kg/m2 the composite ceramics ensures protection from thermally hardened bullets, as well as with armor weight 30-35 kg/m2 it ensures protection from an armor-piercing bullet and a bullet with a thermally hardened steel core. The distinctive feature of the material is that due to its high viscosity under the bullet impact the armor element is not destroyed totally; protection properties of the armor are retained at a repeated shock. A new kind of product with improved consumer properties at less cost, and which amplifies the existing assortment of articles.

Разработаны новые керамические материалы на основе системы, состоящей из нитридных, карбидных и боридных соединений, и технология их получения. Технология основана на традиционных методах порошковой металлургии. Процесс осуществляется на стандартном оборудовании с использованием компонентов чистотой не выше 97-98%. A patent RF 1815258/20.04.93 has been obtained.
