TRANSFER OF INNOVATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

INSTALLATION FOR A COMPLEX GERMICIDAL TREATMENT OF FLUID AND SOLID SUBSTANCES


Purpose of the development: High-performance complex for treatment of fluid and solid substances by simultaneous effect of different germicidal factors (very high frequency, UV-irradiation, ozone).

Recommended application field: Such installations are promising for medical and scientific organizations, consumer services, households, they are also good for purification of water and treatment of technical wastes and sewages.

Advantages over analogues: The resulting decontaminating effect of the installation, achieved due to a joint operation of a number of germicidal factors, many times exceeds the effect of an autonomous UV, very high frequency or ozone treatment. The installation has a simple and reliable design and many functions ensuring a broad range of modes of treatment. As compared with the traditionally used argon-mercury UV lamps the electrodeless very high frequency gas-discharge lamps have much longer (3-4 times) lifetime, during which they ensure stable UV-radiation.

Description of the development:

The source of UV-radiation (l=253.7 nm) in the germicidal installation is two removable electrodeless very high frequency gas-discharge lamps of an original design. The magnetron (working frequency 2450 MHz, power 850 W) forms in the working chamber of the very high frequency installation an electromagnetic field, the energy of which excites and supports very high frequency discharge in lamps. The ozone is formed by UV-radiation with wavelength l=185 nm. Specially designed coaxial very high frequency adapter ensures operational stability of the magnetron with high efficiency in the conditions of big load drops. The design of the installation envisages also a dosed introduction of oxygen in the working chamber and in the fluid coming to the quartz pipe coil in order to ensure stable formation of ozone.
