MACDEL, A HIGHLY EFFICIENT METHOD OF PROPHYLAXIS AND TREATMENT OF MYOPIA OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH THE HELP OF IR LASERS
Purpose of the development:
Prophylaxis and treatment without surgical intervention of myopia, amblyopia, nystagmus, strabismus, optic fatigue, complications after myopia correcting surgeries.
Recommended application field:
Medicine, ophthalmology.
Advantages over analogues:
MACDEL as compared with surgical and physiotherapeutic meth-ods ensures:
effectiveness of accommodation spasm - the main cause of myopia - removal approaches 100%;
non-invasive and painless nature of the impact;
a short time of the treatment (3 min.) and the whole cycle (10-15 treatments);
durable effect of the treatment (rehabilitation cycles by indications are repeated every 6-8 months);
low weight-dimensions characteristics of the device with a wide range of prophylaxis capabilities.
The device allows for use by junior medical personnel following recommendations of an ophthalmologist.

There has been developed a simple method and original IR laser device, MACDEL, for treatment and prophylaxis of eyes' accommoda-tion ability abnormalities by way of contactless transscleral laser irradia-tion of the ciliary muscle.
The effect is achieved due to the ability of low-level radiation doses administrated to strengthen the proliferation and biosynthesis ac-tivity of the connective tissue of the ciliary body, to produce a pro-nounced beneficial influence on the accommodation process in general (vasospasm removal, increase of the transport function of blood, im-provement of the cellular structure, development of the microvascular network).
Prophylaxis is especially useful for children and teenagers from two to nineteen (prophylaxis procedures ensure practically 100% pre-vention of myopia); pilots, car and engine-drivers (of underground loco-motives especially), stone cutters and others.
A patent RF N 2092140/14.10.92, N 43523/07.12.94 has been ob-tained. The application RST N RU 00/00072/15.03.99.
