METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF CANCER COMBINATION BY C60 FULLERENE NANOCOMPOSITE AND CYCLOPHOSPHAMIDE

Purpose of the development: A unique new method is intended for the treatment of cancer, particularly leukemia, using nanotubes, easily absorbed by the body's cells, and the combination of cyclophosphamide with photoexcited fullerene nanostructure.

Recommended application field: Medicine, treatment of cancer.

Advantages over analogues: A method of using the fullerenes in the chemotherapy of malignant tumors based on their modification by attaching biologically active ligands, which exhibit antitumor activity. The developed method has advantages over the known is that it uses the natural ability of fullerenes C60 under short-term exposure to ultraviolet and / or visible regions to generate ROS. The aim of this method is to achieve an antitumor effect through the use of photo-excited C60 fullerene nanocomposites.

The development stage readiness: tested in laboratory condition

Description of the development:
()
The essence of the developed technical solutions consists in modifying the biological activity of objects (non-toxic multiwalled carbon nanotubes, including fullerene nanocomposites) by irradiation to generate reactive oxygen species.
