METHOD OF IRON PRODUCTION


Purpose of the development: Designed to achieve a high degree of processing and the efficiency of iron production.

Recommended application field: Iron and steel industry. Can be used for smelting iron in blast furnaces.

Advantages over analogues: A distinctive feature of the proposed method is a separate download in the blast furnace iron-containing component of the separated fraction of converter slag 10 ... 120mm, with the iron part of the charge, and the mineral component of converter slag with high basicity, which is charged with the fluxes. This allows you to download highly basic mineral component of converter slag on the walls of the shaft furnace, in comparison with the method, analog, and reduces the risk of formation of crust, as too basic slag from the furnace walls is one of the factors that contribute to the formation of crust in the blast furnace. The use of slag as a mineral component of flux due to the absence of loss on ignition of slag excludes the effect of endothermic reactions of decomposition of carbonates in the consumption of coke, ie, to reduce consumption.

Technical and economic effect: The proposed method allows, in comparison with the method-analog, increase the efficiency of converter slag by reducing the formation of crust and reduce coke consumption. In addition, the use of converter slag in the production process allows utilization of wastes of metallurgical production and reduce the harmful impact on the environment.

When you download a high converter slag basicity on the known in a similar way, due to the fact that the walls of the shaft furnace is formed of highly basic slag, increasing the risk of crust in the blast furnace. In addition, the method does not allow to obtain maximum efficiency from the use of converter slag, in particular, its metal-containing component. The task was to develop a method of production of pig iron using converter slag, which would eliminate the above drawbacks of this method. The problem is solved in that mode of production of pig iron, containing a load of burden materials in blast furnace slag converter, according to the developed model, using converter slag fraction of 10 ... 120 mm, previously divided into mineral and iron components, iron and slag component loaded with iron ore resources, and its mineral component - along with the fluxes. At the same time can use the mineral component of converter slag basicity CaO/SiO2 at least 1.8, and its flow rate can be up to 80 kg / t of pig iron.
