Scintillator single crystals of complex oxides and chalcogenides are used in detectors and detection units gamma, x-ray and ultraviolet radiation, high-energy physics. Their unique combination of properties - high density, high effective atomic number, low radiation length, non-hygroscopicity, radiation and chemical resistance, high light output and low afterglow can create on their basis compact multipurpose highly sensitive sensors (detectors) for a variety of the latest high technology equipment. Detectors based on zinc selenide used in introscopic inspection equipment to detect explosives and drugs, medical X-ray diagnosis of human internal organs, gamma, X-ray and ultraviolet dosimetry. Scintillator single crystals of complex oxides (cadmium tungstate and lead silicate, gadolinium, bismuth germanate) used in advanced spectrometric and radiometric radiation monitors for the detection of high-energy elementary particles, in the computer and emission tomography. The ISMA NAS mastered pilot production of these crystals scintillators and detectors, including a multi-element, and matrices. Together with leading industrial enterprises of Ukraine arranged production units, units, devices and a number of customs introscopic systems (for control of vehicles, baggage, mail, etc.) Based on them. These products are exported to many countries and awarded the State Prize of Ukraine (2000). Gold Medal and Diploma - at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva (2002)., Diploma of the Department of Intellectual Property of Ukraine (2001) and the Diploma "Golden Fortune "(2001).
