DIRECTIONAL-SURVEY CABLE SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING BOREHOLE PATH PARAMETERS


Purpose of the development: The directional-survey cable system (DS) is designed for determining the attitude position of boreholes in geophysical survey and well-boring processes. DS provides measurement of the drill orientation angle with binding the measured and calculated parameters to the penetration depth, as well as visual representation of the drill path on a display or paper.

Recommended application field: geophysics and geological studies.

Technical characteristic: - values measured: azimuth, zenith, sight, penetration depth, temperature - maximal penetration depth of SB, km^ 5 - overall dimensions, mm: Ground microprocessor unit: 160x150x60 SB diameter: 40-60 SB length: 500-1500

Advantages over analogues: Absence of movable mechanical parts in SB, high precision of determining spatial coordinates of bore wells, easy mastering. Small dimensions, weight and power consumption, substantial memory computation capability and capacity.

Description of the development:

DS consists of a ground and submersible blocks (GB and SB) connected via a single-core logging cable. GB comprises an IBM-type PC with software; power unit; microprocessor unit for data import, conversion, and transmission via the cable; system of measuring the depth and speed of SB penetration based on magnetic-mark and rate-of-turn sensors; driller's indicator board; software. SB comprises a pressure-tight housing with a cable head; orientation module; temperature and vibration sensors; data import, conversion, and transmission unit.
