Purpose of the development: "Penoporum" is used for the gathering of liquid petroleum and organic substances at liquidation of emergency floods, for clearing water areas, ground, clarifying basins, storm waste water from hydrocarbons and its de-rivatives, crude petroleum, heavy and easy grades of fuel, vegetative, animal and mineral oils, organic solvents and usual organic products.

Recommended application field: Oil production.

Technical characteristic: Absorbing ability: absorbs hydrocarbons in 35-70 times more than body weight without change of volume. Holding ability: completely keeps absorbed substance, were in the sated status on a water surface. Restoring ability: allows restoring not less than 80% of the absorbed substance without change of its characteristics. Destruction of wastes: after use it can be utilized on the arrangement on processing of industrial wastes or is used as fuel. -density, kg/meter cubic: 8-12 -absorbing ability: Crude oil, kg/kg: 35-50 Diesel fuel, kg/kg, not less: 60 Petrol, kg/kg, not less: 70 -time of floatability on the water in the saturated state, day, not less: 30 -regeneration of the assembled substances, %, not less: 80

Advantages over analogues: -hydrophobic (does not absorb water) and oleophilic (absorbs oils) -universal sorbent (absorbs petroleum and its products, mineral and vegetable oils, solvents, etc) -high factor of profitability on absorbed liter of petroleum -not submersible even in saturated (completely sated) state -has superhigh-speed of absorption -is easy in exploitation due to low density -extraction of the absorbed substance by extracting or in a centrifuge -at burning energy is allocated (more than 6000 Kcal on 1 kg) -non toxic for the man, water fauna, animal and flora -effective at clearing of capacities for a storage of hydrocarbons, and also tanks in tankers, hands (without water and soap) -effective for filtering of industrial drains, removing of petroleum from clarifying basins on water treatment stations, at filling of ships, at a loading/unloading of tankers -made in any geometrical form (as plates, grains, mats, circles, boons, pillows etc.) and has unlimited term of a storage.

Semifixed gas-filled polymer of light yellow color. Has uniform fine structure and in-significant quantity of the integrated cells. Under usual conditions does not render harmful action on organism of man and does not require any safety measures; at contact with water sorbent is not decomposed and does not allocate harmful substances. Does not decay and does not attract of animals. It store in dry closed and air-convection vault excepting humidifying of a material and influence of direct solar light.
