Purpose of the development: The special small=sized diffraction-grating monochromators are designed for spectral decomposition of radiation having complex spectral distribution and for further isolation of monochromatic radiation of UV and visible spectra within the wavelength range of from 200 to 800 nm.

Recommended application field: Instrument engineering.

The universality of the monochromator is in the possibility of its operation as an independent device; a device installed in consumer items; a device employed with educational purpose. Monochromators can be used for the analysis of absorbing, fluorescent, and diffusion media in photobiology, biophysics, chemistry, medicine, rapid-series spectroscopy, etc., studied at academic, applied research, and research and development institutions. They can as well be employed in higher and specialized secondary educational institutions as visual aids in teaching spectral engineering through visual perception of the interior structure and operation of the monochromator in general, as well as through its partial disassembly and examination of the components.
