REDOX INTERCALATION BATTERY
Purpose of the development:
Redox intercalation battery is used as the main power source for
a) volatile main memory systems;
b) systems for power quality improving (compensation voltage and current failure,
power-level maintenance depending on load at the transitional periods);
c) hybrid automotive power devices;
d) systems for starting internal combustion engines (from cars to special heavy vehicles);
e) generation of strong infra-low frequency signals;
f) additional power supply for digital mobile devices and electric vehicles, etc.
Advantages over analogues:
At its core, it can be referred to the hybrid electrochemical capacitors that are serious competition for nickel-cadmium
and NiMH batteries which are several times less in capacity and in number of cycles.
This invention 4 times prevails over the known hybrid electrochemical capacitor of CH2SO4PbO2 in specific capacity
at the discharge current of 2A/g. Besides this, invention provides capacity of 1000 W/kg, 10(*4) charge discharge cycles and
lover cost.

Description of the development:
() The technology for the production of redox intercalation battery which provides a discharge current of 2 A/g and a capacity
of 2900 F/g that corresponds to C=106 A х h/kg and W=110W х h/kg has been developed.
Redox intercalation battery is based on fast and reversible surface reaction of iodine electrosorption on the well-developed
surface of nanoporous carbon material.
The scheme documentation for button and flat body design of redox intercalation battery and for tools for their manufacturing
needs was developed. The flat design sample was manufactured.
