Experimental base NDKPI "Lightning" - a high-tech laboratory, the object of national property of Ukraine. Established in 1970-1990 years as a scientific and experimental center for conducting full-scale tests of the state of industrial and household products, which contain a radio and electrical equipment, to the damaging effects and the destabilizing effects of electromagnetic interference of natural and artificial origin (lightning, static discharges electricity, electromagnetic pulses of different sources of microwave radiation, electromagnetic interference of high power supply networks, contact lines of railroads, etc.). According to its technical features and equipment of experimental base for today it has no analogues not only in Ukraine and CIS countries but also in Europe and Asia. The object contains a unique simulator of strong electromagnetic interference, high currents and high voltages from sources of natural and artificial origin that allow for full-scale tests, including certification, a wide class of objects of electronic component base to aerospace engineering facilities for electromagnetic compatibility and durability to meet the requirements of national, interstate and international regulations: -Generator artificial lightning with an operating voltage of 14 million volts and 4 million volts; static electricity-generator facilities of aviation and aerospace technology with an operating voltage of up to 300 thousand volts; -imitator powerful electromagnetic interference of natural and artificial origin (lightning electromagnetic pulses of microwave radiation, short-circuit high-voltage power networks and contact networks of railways with a displacement of up to 100 m3. The total area of ??the experimental base is 12.5 hectares. Object It has mompleks facilities and infrastructure to ensure its normal operation. In 2000, on the recommendation of the International Electrotechnical Commission's main experimental equipment object was included in the World Register of the unique electromagnetic pulse simulators (IEC 61000-4-32). Since 2001, started cooperation between NDPKI "Lightning" NTU "KPI" and the Chinese corporation of space science and technology sharing experimental base for testing space technology in China and its protection from the effects of static and atmospheric electricity.
