SPECIAL HYDROPHOBIC COATING FOR THE DEPRESSION OF LEAKAGE CURRENT ALONG THE SURFACE OF SILICONE ISOLATORS
Purpose of the development:
The coating is designed for providing the water repellent and antipollution properties for the surface of silicone insulators, targeted on the decreasing of surface conductivity and leakage current during electric power transmission and distribution. The coating might be deposited in both the plant and the field conditions.
Recommended application field:
High-voltage power lines, power lines electrified transport.
Technical characteristic:
Contact angles with the surface of the insulator surface water and aqueous solutions of at least 160 degrees. on freshly prepared surfaces and not less than 145 deg. within a year of operation in high humidity and air pollution.

Applying the method of nanotechnology, the phenomenon of self-organization of nanostructures hydrophobic materials. This improves water and dirt repellent surface electrical rubber, resulting in a significant reduction of energy losses at the surface leakage current
