AUTOMATIC REACTIVE POWER COMPENSATOR INDUCTION GENERATOR HYDRO AND WIND PLANTS
Purpose of the development:
The system is designed to automatically control the operating modes of the compensator
reactive power asynchronous generators small hydro and wind plants.

Small HPP Hydraulic power station, wind farm.

Advantages over analogues:
The system is implemented on a specialized microprocessor DCRJ-12 Lovato Electric Company
with communication port RS-232 and RS-485 (Protocol MODBUS RTU). Availability of communication interface RS-485
allows you to program the equalizer modes and to obtain the central control power plant (WPP)
necessary information about the parameters of the generated electric power and self-diagnosis.
The control system also incorporates an internal temperature sensor, programmable input
external temperature sensor, clock / calendar with the event log, a set of additional
advanced functions (over-current measurement of capacitors, harmonic spectrum of current and
voltage, the average power for a week, saving the maximum value of the electric power,
preservation of harmonic components)

Description of the development:
() The compensator consists of regulated and unregulated units and connected to the 0.4 kV buses
transformer substation. Regulated Power has 9 stages switching capacitor banks.
Switching is done using specialized contactors to limit the inrush current.
Power Capacitor is selected according to the rated parameters
generator. Compensator operates automatically under microprocessor
systems. The measuring part can be connected as a voltage 35/10 kW for reactive
power at high voltage side of the transformer station, and on the side of 0.4 kV.
