PROCESS FOR REMOVAL OF SULFUR COMPOUNDS FROM MOTOR FUELS
Purpose of the development:
Designed catalytically adsorption desulfurization method is effective for removing from liquid hydrocarbon fuels derived from petroleum containing compounds, including thiophene, benzothiophene and derivatives thereof.
Recommended application field:
Petrochemical industry.
Advantages over analogues:
A method of catalytically adsorption desulfurization (desulfurization), in contrast to known methods desulfurization provides:
• Energy saving (does not require high temperatures and pressures);
• Resource (does not require sophisticated equipment and expensive catalysts);
• High degree of removal of sulfur (30 ppm in gasoline, 15 ppm for diesel fuel, and if necessary - up to 1 ppm or less for fuel cells, ie to the European standards sulfur);
• Removal of thiophene derivatives, which do not delete existing methods.
The development stage readiness:
Ready for application
Description of the development:
() During adsorption desulfurization catalyst occurs catalytic oxidation of sulfur compounds available oxidants polluting petroleum products, polar compounds which are removed by adsorption. The process may be implemented in tanks with petroleum products, and in a flow or flow-loop reactor with a fixed or fluidized bed of the adsorbent catalyst.
