LABORATORY FOR TESTS OF STRUCTURAL MATERIALS IN ENVIRONMENTS CONTAINING HYDROGEN SULPHIDE AND CARBON DIOXIDE


Purpose of the development: Laboratory intended for corrosion, corrosion, mechanical, electrical and other tests of structural materials in aqueous media and hydrocarbon containing hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide.

Recommended application field: Chemical and oil and gas industries.

Features:     - Determination of the resistance of pipe steels to hydrogen-induced cracking;     - Evaluation of the sensitivity of metals and welds to hydrogen sulfide stress corrosion cracking;     - Assessment of the surface blisters steels in environments with hydrogen sulfide;     - Definition of the threshold stress intensity factor Kissc;     - Determination of the resistance of the metal to crack propagation under the influence of cyclic loading;     - Identification of the corrosiveness of crude oil, natural gas and produced water containing hydrogen sulfide;     - Assessment of the impact on the general corrosion inhibitors, hydrogen induced cracking, hydrogen sulfide corrosion       cracking under stress and crack resistance of construction materials;     - Conduct incoming quality control of metallic materials pipes, welded       compounds tubing and casing pipes, etc. for oil and gas deposits;     - Develop material specifications of oil and gas equipment and methods of protection against corrosion. Equipment and methods used by the laboratory:     - Gravimetric and electrochemical methods for studying the rate of corrosion of metals;     - Methods of study of the electrochemical properties of metals in environments containing hydrogen sulfide and definitions       hydrogen permeability;     - Equipment for the study of hydrogen sulfide stress corrosion cracking;     - Installations for the study of metals with low strain rate;     - Equipment for determining the intensity factor;     - Test the machine to study the corrosion fatigue of structural materials;     - The test setup for studying the crack growth rate under cyclic loads in environments       containing hydrogen sulphide.
