AUTOMATED SYSTEM FOR MEASUREMENTS OF GEOMETRICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PHYTOPLANKTON IN THE WATER BASIN


Purpose of the development: The automated system is designed to measure the geometry and mass of phytoplankton in the water bodies.

Recommended application field: Businesses and organizations involved in monitoring aquatic ecosystems and water supply of household objects.

Advantages over analogues: The developed system has the following main advantages: increase the reliability of the identification of phytoplankton, obtained by the use of an artificial neural network that successfully solves the problem of identifying the presence of a large number of features that must be analyzed, with a large variety of appearance and in the absence of phytoplankton is a clear formal criteria of the procedure identification. Patent-, competitive results: As part of the technique of identification of phytoplankton in the water samples by forming a digital video products from water samples and digital processing of video images using mathematical tools and algorithms of artificial neural networks. This technique improves the accuracy and efficiency of identification of phytoplankton in the water samples. The novelty of the results is confirmed by Ukrainian patent for invention number 88673.

The development stage readiness: Tested experimental exploitation order

Technical and economic effect: The economic attractiveness of development for market promotion, application and realization, parameters, price: The developed system provides a measure of the linear dimensions of phytoplankton with a maximum error of + / - 2 discrete points of a digital image. When using a microscope MICROS MC-200 with integrated digital camera CAM-2800, and this corresponds to an increase 400x accuracy geometrical parameters of phytoplankton + / - 1.0 microns. The system has a high performance and efficiency, the identification with minimal operator. The estimated cost of a single instance of the system is 30,000 USD.

Provides enhanced functionality and increased performance measuring indicators of phytoplankton by the introduction of computers and algorithmic processing of visual information about these parameters in water from reservoirs. A new method for the identification of the species composition of phytoplankton in his geometrical parameters based on the use of information and computer technology and mathematical apparatus of artificial neural network. Current operational status: Development has completed a working model of an automated system, its manufacture and use of industrial-scale production requires preparation.
