Purpose of the development:
Semiconductors CdTe with nano-structured surface perspective for creation of high-speed photodiodes, optical modulators, solar cells and other devices photonics.
Recommended application field:
Photonics.
Advantages over analogues:
In contrast to other existing methods, the proposed design formation of nanostructures can occur both in solid and liquid phases due to the formation of defect-continua deformation when irradiated material.

Description of the development:
() Laser irradiation and consequent action , in particular, heating of the optical excitation of deformation , shock waves and surface forms a high solids concentration point effects. When exceeding the critical concentration is their clustering and the formation of nanometer-sized islands . This process occurs when irradiated single nanosecond pulses of ruby laser crystal CdTe. With the increasing power density of laser pulses nanoparticle sizes first increase and then decrease , while depending on the pulse parameters are arranged in various relief structure .
