Purpose of the development: Manufakture of centrifugal compressor impellers for power engineering, metallurgy, chemical, oil and other industries.

Description of the development:

A composite technology has been designed to fabricate durable solder-welded impellers for centrifugal compressors from high-stength stainless medium-alloy steel. The impeller cosists of two disks-the main disk (usually with integral blades) and a covering one. Fastening of the covering disk to the blades is done by slotted EBW welds. Shallow weld areas of the blades are joined to the covering disk by vacuum soldering. Before soldering fillets are formed from metal powder which is then saturated with solder. The tehnology developed is used to manufacture impellers of 360...850 mm in outside diameter from 07H16N6 or 13HGMRB steels. After balancing, the impellers are put to overspeed testing at revolution rate 10...15% higher than that of the compressor rotor.
