Purpose of the development: High-performance conversion of electrical energy into heat.

Advantages over analogues: Arc discharge of the plasmatron is initiated and stably burns both at excess pressure in the smelting spece, and at underpressure in various gaseous media (neutral - argon, helium; fctive - hydrogen, natural gas; corrosive - oxygen, air). The complex provides improving of steels and alloys, environmental safery of processes along with improvement of hygiene and sanitary conditions at metallurgical works. The complex contributes to saving of energy, graphitized electrode, fireproof materials and ferroalloys.

The complex consists of three alternating-current plasmatrons with a three-phase power supply and auxiliary eguipment. The power supplies are reliable, inexpensive, serviceable and small-size.
