Purpose of the development: The device carries out NDT size details engineering and instrumentation.

Recommended application field: The device is required for the production of bearings, joints, elements of optical circuits and other parts kinofotoaparatury engineering and instrumentation, which require compliance with precise dimensional accuracy.

Advantages over analogues: Analogues of the instrument can be considered traditional mechanical calipers and micrometers. But the accuracy afforded by these devices does not exceed 10 ?. That is enough for them to use at the household level, but instrument and engineering requires a higher accuracy. Known measuring microscopes achieve accuracy up to 1 ?, but are bulky and fragile, and, in addition, require increased eye strain operator. This device deprived these shortcomings while providing accuracy to 1/4 ?.

The development stage readiness: Pre-production model is made

Technical and economic effect: Cost of the device (excluding the cost of the computer) is about $ 300. Establishment of mass production can reduce the cost by 30 percent.

The device is a conventional pin micrometer micrometer screw but it is replaced by the two diffraction gratings with different pitches , one of which acts as a main scale , and the other - the role of a vernier . Probe micrometer rests on an object whose dimensions to be identified on the grid system directs the laser beam , and a diffraction pattern , which bands are shifted by a certain distance depending on the size of the object . Since the displacement of the diffraction pattern on a single band corresponding to a change object size to half the wavelength of the light source , the use of green semiconductor laser with a wavelength of about 0.5 ? ensures accurate measurement of the dimensions of the object ± 0.125 ?. The device is environmentally friendly and its use is not harmful to the operator.
