BIOTECHNOLOGICAL METHODS FOR REMOVING LIQUID AND PRECIOUS METALS FROM THE PRODUCTS OF THERMAL COAL BURNING


Purpose of the development: Designed biotechnological method is aimed at obtaining additional rare and precious metals from non-traditional raw material - man-made waste energy and metallurgy enterprises of Ukraine.

Recommended application field: Ministry of Industrial Policy, mining and geological enterprises, enterprises of energy, ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy.

Advantages over analogues: On set of instructional techniques biotechnological method of extracting metals using active microorganisms has several advantages over existing counterparts. Designed a biotechnological method is simple to use, is implemented at normal temperature and pressure without the use of strong acids and the formation of toxic intermediate products, making it environmentally safe.

The development stage readiness: Ready for application

Technical and economic effect: Development refers to the energy-and resource-saving technologies, and has environmental focus. Using biotechnological methods helps to ensure that industrial waste lose its negative impact on the environment and humans. Biotechnological method for extraction of metals using microorganisms requires expensive equipment deficient reagents characterized by low power consumption and labor costs.

The essence of development is the use of biotechnological methods for extraction of rare and precious metals from waste energy and metallurgy enterprises of Ukraine. The basis of the method was the use of active microorganisms with practically useful properties. Developers conducted model tests of the developed method to extract liquid (germanium, zirconium) metals from industrial lead-zinc concentrate and waste plants.
