SOFTWARE COMPLEX OF INFORMATION SYSTEM "GIS WATERING"


Purpose of the development: Using "GIS Watering" avoids unnecessary watering and achieve savings of water and energy resources.

Recommended application field: Agriculture.

Advantages over analogues: Information technologies offer : - Provide fast processing and analysis of information on the state of doing irrigation using GIS and remote sensing ; - Receive every day operational information about the dynamics of soil moisture and water use crops on each field in graphic and cartographic form ; - Develop operational plans for irrigation of crops and water supply in the economy on the basis of information system software package "GIS Watering " ; - Evaluate the effectiveness of water and energy for irrigation ; - To provide the most economically viable and environmentally friendly solutions for water supply and water distribution in the economy within irrigation systems , taking into account the interests of all stakeholders.

Technical and economic effect: Save water and energy resources and providing 20-30% to 10 % increase crop yields. Implementation: - Water scenarios for Europe and neighboring countries (SCENES). - Integrated management plans for land and water areas for the pilot model of the " new rural community ." - Intergovernmental Ukrainian - Dutch project «Catapuld". - Experimental industrial introduction of IP "GIS - Watering " in SE OH " Askaniyskoy " Kherson region . - Ukrainian- Dutch project " Improving the management of water resources in irrigation systems of southern Ukraine (WATERMUK) ". - The Ukrainian- Belgian project " Irrigation management to support sustainable agriculture and the environment in Ukraine (UKRIM project)». - River restoration via integrated river basin management (ECRR). - The Association of Dutch companies PLUS.

Description of the development:

Object management information system is a water resources at various levels of functioning irrigation systems : agricultural field , farm , on-farm irrigation system module . The irrigation system is considered as a complex open naturally - technically - Agrotechnological social system , which is used by public and private enterprises under existing legislation and accepted organizational norms and rules . Control via IP implemented through successive stages : a feasibility study for the reconstruction or restoration of irrigation systems , strategic and annual planning of water use at all levels of the system, operational planning, water demand and supply at the district water management and operational management of the irrigation of crops in farms . Criteria of efficiency of irrigation management using IP are: more efficient use of water and land resources ; increase crop yields ; growth of profitability of irrigated agriculture and reducing the payback period of investments ; soil conservation and environmental sustainability of irrigated land. Effect of the introduction can be achieved if all the technologies of crop production , good governance at all stages of the production chain from planting crops to processing and sale of products.
