FORMATION OF CARBON NANOTUBES IN THE PRESENCE OF PLASMA


Purpose of the development: The developed models and methods allow us to find the optimal conditions for the growth of carbon nanotubes vertically towards the bottom of the discharge chamber in the presence of nano-catalysts.

Recommended application field: The results can be implemented in the scientific and technical institutions and enterprises producing modern high-tech products.

Advantages over analogues: Not known analogs in their effectiveness would correspond to the developed models.

The theoretical and numerical models describing the formation of forest carbon nanotubes vertically directed at the bottom of the discharge chamber in the presence of nanoparticle catalysts . The methods of calculating the rate of growth of nanostructures , the diffusion length and the mean residence time of carbon atoms on the surface of nanostructures as a function of external parameters. The models accounted for interaction surface nanostrukur hydrocarbon molecules and atoms of gas that is used for etching , and heat - induced dissociation of the ions adsorbed on the surface of the nanotube molecules hydrocarbon heterogeneity of particle deposition on the surface of the plasma environment of nanotubes on the surface of the decay of carbon ions , and diffusion of carbon atoms on the surface of the nanostructures. For numerical calculations we use the Fortran 90 , ie, calculations can be performed on any PC . Calculations of the rate of growth of nanotubes take a few seconds.
