Purpose of the development: Self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) - a kind of burning in which produce valuable in a practical sense solids.

Recommended application field: Engineering.

Advantages over analogues: Benefits from the use of materials obtained during NE synthesis, such as: - High hardness and wear resistance; - Technological simplicity and high performance; - Reasonable prices and availability.

The development stage readiness: Introduced in production

Technical and economic effect: Strengthening the work surfaces of new parts by electric welding wear resistant coating with a thickness of 2 to 6 mm material of high and ultrahigh hardness increases the service life of 3-8 times depending on the operating conditions and the thickness of the coating.

NE synthesis - a new efficient technology , which suffers from high technological performance , the use of the chemical energy of the reactants , the simplification of high-temperature equipment , the ability to solve various technological problems . In some cases, prepared by the SHS method and material , and the product of it. SHS reaction can be schematically represented as follows: fuel + oxidizer + = reaction product of the thermal effect . As fuel is used , for example , Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Mo, W , etc. , Oxidizer - C, B, Si, N2, H2, O2, S, Se , etc. , reaction products - carbides, borides, silicides , nitrides and other compounds. Developed and implemented a unique technology of super-hard wear-resistant surfacing materials SHS class in the form of powder electrodes and tape. Also developed a modern composite wear-resistant material and its production technology using SHS phenomenon . It is characterized by extremely high levels of durability and cutting ability and is manufactured as a compact cylindrical shape inserts in a metal shell.
