Purpose of the development: Designed for use on modern section mills.

Recommended application field: metallurgy

Advantages over analogues: Calculations of energy savings at low temperature heating blanks on the floor and uninterrupted continuous section mills have shown that lowering the heating temperature to 1200-1270 ° C to 1000-1050 ° C with simultaneous use of heat-preserving devices, and increasing the number of passes on 1-2 aggregate capacity increases by rolling kVt.G 15-18 / t. This allows for fuel savings in the range of 110-130 kVt.g / t (400-470MDzh / t), and the total energy savings for heating and rolling section bars - on 100-110kVt.g / t (360-400 J / m) or 12-15%.

Reduced rolling temperature allows for strain-heat treatment of metals in the stream of the camp, which will provide such properties and structure that further heat treatment furnaces can be generally removed from the process, or greatly reduced. In most steels yield point and resistance to deformation decrease the temperature did provoke to a lesser extent than the visco-plastic properties, but in some cases tensile strength tended to decrease. This is due to a warning or a significant inhibition of the process of recrystallization, which provides the deformation of austenite grains with smaller and more defective structure. Further crushing the grains occurs at rolling temperature above recrystallization or maintaining their size and increasing structural defects during rolling below the recrystallization. As a result, in particular, the hardness of the resulting rolled steel grades 10,20 and 35 without the heat treatment after rolling at 115.132 and 163 HB, respectively, which meet the requirements GOST 10702 in the heat treatment condition. Reducing the rolling temperature and an overall positive effect on the stability of rolls due to temperature reduction of fatigue, abrasion gauges by reducing its scale in the composition of the hardstock - Fe2O3, and increasing the softest - FeO. Along with this increased contact stresses in the rollers, this decrease in temperature is necessary to use the new rolling roll material. So the so-title "ferritic rolling" low-carbon steels most effective material proved to be a roller-speed steels.
