CATALYST FOR LOW TEMPERATURE OXIDATION OF CARBON MONOXIDE (II) KNO-SO/PT


Purpose of the development: The catalyst is designed to clean the air from carbon monoxide (CO) up to the maximum allowable concentration, and may find application in the means of individual (respirators, gas masks, etc.) and collective (prefix for conditioners, installation for sanitary norms microclimate of industrial premises) protection.

Recommended application field: Respiratory protection from CO.

Technical characteristic: The catalyst is designed to clean the air from carbon monoxide (CO) up to the maximum permissible concentration (MPC = 20 mg / cubic meter) at initial concentrations of CO is not greater than 15 MACs, ambient temperature (15-30 ° C) and relative humidity 25-70 %.

Advantages over analogues: Catalysts known brands AK-62 and AK-64U, manufactured industrially in Russia, allow for a long time to clean the air with a CO concentration of 300 mg / m up to sanitary standards, but high palladium content (2.4 and 4 wt.%) makes these catalysts are extremely expensive (their price is more than $ 1,500 per 1 kg).

The development stage readiness: Ready for application

Technical and economic effect: Known catalyst for purification of air from carbon monoxide (RF Pat. 2,267,354) in performance is approximately equal KNO-SO/PT, but it also contains increased compared to the last concentration of palladium compounds (0,80-2,54 against 0,4 - 0 5 wt.%). In addition to reducing the content of palladium in the catalyst KNO-SO/PT unlike mentioned analogues in which the composition is used as a carrier of aluminum oxide is rather expensive, using natural tripoli, which is produced in Ukraine, and requires no additional processing.

Description of the development:

Granular catalyst KNO-SO/PT is a transition metal salts, anchored by impregnating an unmanufactured natural tripoli. The catalyst comprises palladium chloride (II) (PdCl2), a salt of copper (II), a compound of bromine, the porous carrier. Technical characteristics and parameters of the catalyst KNO-SO/PT allow its use in lightweight cartridge respirators. Originality of the catalyst confirmed declarative patent for a utility model number 31787 Ukraine. The technical conditions TU 24.6-02071091-002:2010 "catalyst of low-temperature oxidation of carbon (II) CO CCW / PT", which, according to the conclusion of the relevant state sanitary-epidemiological expertise, have been approved and registered by State Standard of Ukraine.
