Purpose of the development:
The device is a counter aerosol particles shadow type and designed for operational control and monitoring of air pollution in industrial areas. The measurements give a complete number of particles, their concentration and size distribution.
Recommended application field:
The device can be used by enterprises and institutions of electronic, medical and pharmaceutical industry (the problem of "clean rooms"), as well as for the control of harmful pollutants in the enterprises of metallurgy, energy, and environmental monitoring facilities.

Thanks to the use of simplified design and components mainly Ukrainian production, the price of the developed device will be about $ 1000 This is an order of magnitude less than the price of western counterparts, which makes it attractive in the markets not only in Ukraine, but also the CIS countries, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Description of the development:
() The device uses a laser diode radiation (680 nm, 30 mW), which impinges on a narrow gap (thickness adjustment, 10 or 20 microns), which is located behind the photodetector. Aerosol particles are transported air stream perpendicular to the slit. When a particle is in front of the gap, it is partially "obscures" the photodetector, which is why its signal decreases. Analysis and signal processing, carried out using a personal computer, allow us to judge the size of the particles.
Counter is used to study the characteristics of the welding fumes in the Institute of Physical Chemistry of environmental protection and human MES and enterprise "Novatekh Electro", Odessa.
