A METHOD FOR EVALUATING THE REPRODUCTIVE ABILITY OF COWS AFTER CALVING


Purpose of the development: Developed a method for evaluating and predicting the state of the uterus of cows after calving to improve reproductive ability.

Technical and economic effect: A method for evaluating the reproductive ability of cows tested in a production environment on a 540 cow herd and implemented in JV "Progress" in s. Boguslavets Zolotonoshskiy district, Cherkasy region. Its use could enhance the fertility of cows after first insemination by 18%.

Description of the development:

Violation of the processes that occur in the genital cows in the postpartum period (decrease uterine contractility, the detention of recovery of the coating layer of the endometrium, microbial contamination), are the main causes of symptomatic their infertility. In particular, the conditions are created for the inflammatory processes, which result in distortion of the structure of the uterus, especially uterine glands, which adversely affects the viability of sperm and embryos. As a result of rectal examinations cows, biochemical studies lohy and cytological studies of the vaginal mucosa were obtained data describing both natural and pathological involution of the uterus. Comparison of these data allowed the development of a method of estimating and predicting the state of the uterus of cows after calving. This takes into account the duration of postnatal discharge, presence of mucopolysaccharides, as well as the location, size and contractility of the uterus, the saturation of the body's estrogen by kariopiknotichesky index smears from the vaginal mucosa.
