PORTABLE RADAR FOR RESCUERS


Purpose of the development: The radar is designed for search and rescue operations in the areas of natural or technological disasters. Allows you to identify and locate living people trapped under the rubble, which were formed due to earthquakes, explosions, fires, avalanches, debris flows, landslides, etc. It can be used to detect moving objects for optically opaque barriers.

Recommended application field: Rescue services for search and rescue operations in the areas of avalanches and other natural disasters. Antiterrorist units to identify people in protected areas and areas or places with limited access. Health services for remote (non-invasive) measurements of heart rate and respiration. Security restricted areas of the state border, and others.

Technical characteristic: Maximum distance to the obstacle - 15 m. The depth of penetration - more than 5 m. Resolution in range - 0.7 m. The range of wavelengths - decimeter. Self-powered. Radar Dimensions (without antenna) - 400x150x140 mm. The axial length of the antenna - 600 mm. Time of continuous work - at least 8 hours. Weight Radar (without power supply) - up to 3 kg. Weight of food - up to 5 kg.

Advantages over analogues: The device uses a low-power continuous radiation with a pseudo-random code phase shift keying, which makes it hardly noticeable when used in real-world conditions. Signal processing system based on the properties of the signal reflected from the object and allows you to use the most informative features, including heartbeat, breathing, limb movement to identify a living person for optically opaque obstacle. In addition, the device has the following features: resistance to interference, which are caused by the reflection of the probing signal from obstacles, moving objects, art, people; high probability of detection and identification of objects of the search; exception "blind zone" in the search; increased resolution.

The principle of operation is based on a radar detecting phase shifts of the information signal, which are caused by the Doppler frequency shift, resulting from the interaction of the probe radiation with little motion. The main objective is to feature extraction of the information signal, which is caused by the movement of a person or parts of the body (the movement of the limbs, trunk, chest when breathing, heartbeat, etc.) on the background noise, as well as in the decision of a living creature in the region of space. Application of the proposed radar system can afford to quickly identify objects under the surface of the soil, which are inaccessible to other methods to monitor underground concrete structures in construction, easy to find breaks pipelines and unauthorized bumping into them promptly exercise customs control of bulk cargo in rail and maritime transport, to identify contamination of subsurface soil, increase the efficiency of the search of people affected by man-made and natural disasters.
