HIGH EFFICIENCY COHERENT RADAR OF MILLIMETER RANGE FOR MONITORING AND CONTROL THE SURFACE MOVEMENT IN AIRPORTS


Purpose of the development: Surveillance of aircraft, technological vehicles and other objects on the airport tarmac.

Recommended application field: Management and control systems for surface movement servicing small airfields.

Technical characteristic: Carrier frequency - 36 GHz. Range for surveillance aircraft and vehicles - 6 km. The suppression of reflections from stationary objects, not worse - 20 dB. Range resolution - 15 m. The resolution of the azimuth - 0.25 degrees. Inspection areas circumferential speed - about 0.25 / sec. The average radiation power, not more than - 50 mW.

Advantages over analogues: Using the coherent processing of radar signals.

The development stage readiness: Pre-production model is made

Technical and economic effect: Thanks to the low weight (less than 100 kg) and size (radius of rotation of the antenna edge of about 1.5 m), and the required height above the earth's surface - no more than 10 m, the radar unit does not require for its accommodation facilities complex and expensive designs such as towers . Environmental effects due to the use of solid-state transceiver small pulse power, which significantly reduces the level of electromagnetic radiation within the airport, where there might be people.

Coherent signal processing provides a reliable automatic detection of moving objects from the Doppler frequency shift of the reflected signals and their classification according to the speed with the color markings on the radar. Modifications of the radar system can be used to control the movement of vessels in the straits, sea and river ports; to monitor activities in the areas terrain with a special regime.
