MODIFIERS FOR METALLURGICAL EQUIPMENT CASTINGS
Purpose of the development:
The invention relates to the bucket or internally molded and modification of cast iron and can be used in foundries for the production of iron castings.
Recommended application field:
Foundry.
Technical characteristic:
Modifier composition: titanium carbonitride - 25-35%, silicon carbide - 15-25%, cast iron shavings - rest. Expenses modifier for various casting castings is 0.5 -1.0 kg per 1 ton of pig iron.

Description of the development:
() The developed technology for modification of cast iron consists of 3 stages:
1. Mixing of ultrafine silicon carbide, titanium carbonitride and nanosized iron shavings.
2. Preparation of modifier in the mold.
3. Introduction of the modifier in the iron melt.
Designed modifier, dissolved in the molten iron is uniformly distributed over the volume of the bucket, making it necessary to introduce minimal losses and the amount is significantly refines the structure of cast iron castings. Technology nanomodifitsirovaniya iron tested in the casting of rolls (JSC "Dnepropetrovsk plant of rolls") and wheel molds (JSC "Interpipe NTRP").
