Purpose of the development: Magnetic particle inspection (MIC) for the detection of surface and subsurface defects in objects of various shapes and sizes, made of ferromagnetic materials or objects coated with a nonmagnetic. With it can be detected cracks of various origins, hairline, sunsets, lack of fusion welded joints and other defects opening width of a few micrometers. The instrument used to measure both AC and DC fields.

Recommended application field: Different areas of the economy.

Advantages over analogues: Magnetic method has the following advantages: high sensitivity; ease of control and ability to check a variety of shapes and sizes of parts on the same flaw; possibility of control parts which are in the structure; relatively high efficiency control.

Portable gauss / teslametr 5170/5180 is equipped with a Hall sensor for measuring the magnetic induction in the following units: Gausss, Tesla, Ampere-meter. Measuring range from 0.01 mT (0.1 gauss or 0.01 KAM) to 2.999 T (29.99 kgs or 2387 QAM). This instrument can measure the magnetic induction in three fixed range or can be programmed to automatically select the best range for the current magnetic induction. ZERO function is not affected by the results of measurements of external magnetic fields (including the field of the Earth) or internal error signals from a sensor or meter. The kit includes a camera reset which protects the sensor in the process of resetting the influence of external magnetic fields. RELATIVE MODE function allows you to suppress the large magnetic fields to detect small changes. Both functions can be performed reset manually or automatically. Another important feature is the mode HOLD, with which the user can save the arithmetic maximum, minimum, or peak value. The model 5180 has a feature that allows you to receive an analog signal from the BNC, which is a signal of magnetic induction and calibrated at 3 V DC field and 3Vrms alternating field. This port can be connected to a voltmeter. An oscilloscope or external analog-to-digital converter. This device can be connected to the computer to reset the data through the USB port.
