A NEW METHOD OF THE MATERIALS NANOHARDNESS ASSESSMENT
Purpose of the development:
Non-destructive quality control of materials in nanovolumes.
Recommended application field:
Nanotechnology.
Technical characteristic:
Calculation of hardness is carried out in depth indentation and accounted for both elastic and plastic strain components.
Advantages over analogues:
In determining nanohardness by the developed method eliminates the need for complex and insufficiently objective calculation of elastic deflection, because as the main parameter is the depth of indentation, which is measured by the instrument.

Improving the accuracy of measurements and reduce the labor intensity of processing the results of determination nanohardness.
Description of the development:
() The developed method allows to calculate nanohardness depth indentation, which is measured by the instrument, for any material over the entire range of loads Berkovich indenter. Has a higher accuracy and significantly much lower labor input than the method of Oliver and Pharr.
