Purpose of the development: Non-destructive quality control of materials.

Recommended application field: Mechanical Engineering.

Technical characteristic: Restored hardness is calculated without taking into account the elastic deformation; unrestored as measured by continuous indentation, - taking into account the elastic and plastic deformation of the component and the size effect. This approach allows us to evaluate the hardness of both plastic and brittle materials. Determine the surface, projection and bulk hardness.

Advantages over analogues: Unrestored hardness determine the entire load range, and not only for the maximum load.

The development stage readiness: Introduced in production

Technical and economic effect: Increasing the accuracy of control of mechanical properties by 10-12% and improve the quality of the finished product.

Surface hardness is defined as the ratio of the load to the plane of the surface of a print or wedged into the material of the indenter; projection - as the ratio of the load to the projected area of a print or a material part of vtisnoy indenter; the volume - as the ratio of the load to the volume of print or wedged into the material of the indenter. When measuring hardness observed size effect, the nature of which depends on the type of indenter.
